Diablo 2 Resurrected is delivering on its promise, and Blizzard has announced that the game's public test realm (PTR) is about to begin. The test of the 2.4 Update, which will eventually introduce Ladder Play, is getting closer to us.

Ladder System
You can unlock a new set of Rune Words in the Ladder system. These Rune words have never appeared in the game before, and they won't show up in non-ladder play. At the end of Ladder Season, if you craft these rune words, you will move your Ladder character to the "non-ladder" version of the game. At the start of the next Ladder season, you can craft a new Ladder character and start over. At that time, the corresponding Diablo 2 Resurrected Items will be able to help you quickly become stronger to go further in the game.
Mercenary Changes
Many players like to use Desert Mercenary, so Blizzard wanted to give more reasons to use the other 3 mercenaries, so the development team looked into improving their skills and stats to enhance their identity and fantasy.
New Rune Words
New Horadric Cube recipes, set item changes, and new rune words are also coming. The new Horadric Cube Recipes will allow upgrading the item quality of set items to provide more item build possibilities. Set item changes will update underperforming set items, giving you more incentive to pursue Partial and Full set items to complement the skill changes.
