After a rocky Season 1, Diablo 4 Season 2 hopes to incorporate many of the features fans have been asking for since before the game’s release. Meanwhile, new mechanisms are introduced for players to study in depth.
Blizzard announced that the new season of Diablo 4, coming on October 17, will be called Season of Blood. Here’s everything we know about Diablo 4’s follow-up.
Renown System
One of the biggest changes is how Diablo 4’s Renown system works. When Season 2 arrives, the need for players to hone Renown for each new season character by completing side quests, dungeons, and strongholds will be a thing of the past.
Instead, Blizzard will make Renown rewards account-wide. This means if the player reaches max Renown on a character. These rewards will automatically be unlocked for all future characters, regardless of whether that character is a seasonal or standard character.
Therefore, all Skill Points, Potion Charges, Paragon Points and Murmuring Obols need only be planted once. Then it can be transferred to each new character you will make.
This is a delightful change requested by the community since Season 1. Because it disappointed many people that they had to repeat the boring Renown grind over and over, only to end up not getting more out of it.
QOL Improvement
Some of the most exciting changes in Season 2 are the myriad quality-of-life improvements confirmed at launch. Many of these are long-requested by fans. For example, Gems will no longer take inventory space and will be treated as crafting materials.
During Season 2, one complaint from many players was that inventory space was very limited. Because we mostly finish Nightmare Dungeons with a full inventory, and then we have to go to Blacksmith to scrap, not upgrade gear.
Although we will keep the gems, we will have to go to the storage room to put them there, or go to the vendor and sell them to earn Diablo 4 Gold. Otherwise, if I keep running the dungeon, I no longer have room to pick up all the loot.
Happily, this issue will also be addressed in Season of Blood. Now we can search and filter these items to avoid the problem of over-stretched inventory.
New Bosses
For endgame content, 5 new bosses will be added to the game. So far, there’s no information on what kind of boss we’ll see. Will they appear at the end of the dungeon? Will there be a timed spawning World Boss?
But the good news is that each boss will have their own Unique Diablo 4 items and Uber Uniques. Players can get them in a targeted manner when spawning monsters, so that it will be easier for us to get the best targeted equipment.
Changes To Status Effects Functionality
The last change announced so far is a rework and change to Status Effects functionality. Such as Vulnerable, Overpower, Critical Strike Damage, and the previously promised rework of Elemental Resistances system.
The theme of Season 2 will be Blood and Vampires. We will have a new seasonal quest line. We’ll join the battle with Vampire Hunter and unlock the new Vampiric Powers. I’m really curious what these Vampiric Powers are and how they will work. So are you excited about Season of Blood? What are your thoughts on this? Let us look forward to Season 2!
