Elden Ring: How To Build A High-Intelligence Gravity Sorceries Build? - Voidborne Magus
Aug 08, 2023

Source: MMOWTS

Welcome to my Voidborne Magus build guide. In this high-intelligence build, I will give you a powerful selection of weapons and equipment. This way, you can start this journey right from the beginning of the game. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

Wing Of Astel

The heart of the build is Wing of Astel. This is one of the unique Curved Swords in Elden Ring, and it deals with both physical and magical damage. The weapon skill Nebula only deals magic damage.

It is also a Gravity weapon, which deals 20% more damage to Gravity enemies like Alabaster Lord and Fallingstar Beast. What sets Wing of Astel apart from the other Curved Swords in the game is its heavy attack and weapon skill, Nebula.

Heavy Attack

Wing of Astel’s heavy hit is similar to other Curved Swords, but also unleashes Wave of Magic. Holding it down unleashes two consecutive waves dealing with 100% magic damage. This means it will benefit from magic-enhanced items like Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear. What’s more is that you don’t need any FP to use it.

Wing of Astel’s heavy attack also causes high poise damage. If you use it very close to the target, the weapon and Wave of Magic will hit the enemy, causing more poise damage.

The downside is that Wave of Magic has a short range, so you’ll need to make sure you’re close enough, or time your attacks as enemies’ approach. During a slam attack, you can press the scroll button to cancel the attack and flip backwards before attacking the enemy again.

Elden Ring: Wing Of Astel Has An Amazing Heavy Attack!

Nebula

Now let’s talk about Nebula. When cast, it releases an arc shape cloud of stars. This lingers for a short period before exploding, dealing damage to any enemies trapped within.

In addition to its amazing damage, it’s also very effective at destroying enemy poises, making them suffer from more Nebula attacks. It also has a relatively fast cast time and recovery rate, allowing you to keep casting Nebula to wipe out enemies quickly.

A word of caution: when casting Nebula, always need to leave some space between you and the enemy. This way, it already trapped them in the blast range when they approach.

Meteoric Ore Blade

Also, I want to give you an early game weapon option and that is Meteoric Ore Blade. This is a Katana type weapon that deals both physical and magical damage.

As with most Katana, it will come with a buildup of passive blood. It also has unique heavy attacks compared to other Katana, including two powerful downward slashes. This can alone charge and deal poise damage.

You should be aware that when you drive your sword into the ground, enemies closer to you will take more damage from enemies further away. A useful combo you can perform is to cast gravity to pull enemies closer, then quickly tap hard to knock them down.

Gravity Sorceries

Gravity Sorceries in Elden Ring do a variety of damage, some of which deal 100% magic damage, like Collapsing Stars. Rock Sling deals 100% Physical Damage. While others deal with physical and magical damage, such as Meteorite of Astel.

This can be advantageous. As you can benefit from items and spells that boost physical and magical damage, further increasing the potency of these Sorceries.

Staves

During your journey with this build, you’ll use different Staves depending on where in the game you’re at and how much intelligence you have.

But Meteorite Staff is a Staff that accompanies us throughout the journey. You should always have it equipped when casting Gravity Sorceries. Because it can increase the potency of Sorceries by 30%. That doesn’t mean you should cast Gravity Sorceries with this Staff. You just need to equip it so you can increase passive damage.

Buffs

You can also consider enhancing your gameplay with some significant buffs, such as Terra Magica. This will increase all your magical attacks by 35%. Except for Rock Sling, since it only deals with physical damage.

I also use Golden Vow to increase all damage by +15% and damage cancellation by +10%. Because some of our spells do partial physical damage, like Meteorite. So using Flame Grant me Strength increases physical damage by +20% for 30 seconds. I also used Godrick’s Great Rune, which adds a temporary 5 to all stats.

Talismans

Talisman we’re using in this build is Magic Scorpion Charm, which increases all magic damage by 12%. Graven-Mass Talisman increases all spell damage by 8%. Shard of Alexander increases Nebula’s damage by 15%.

Elden Ring: Graven-Mass Talisman

For the last slot, you can choose Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, which reduces physical damage taken by 20%. At full health, you can also use Ritual Sword Talisman to increase all damage by 10%. Early in the game, using Radagon’s Soreseal will satisfy Meteoric Ore Blade without wasting any Elden Ring Runes.

Starter Class

The ideal entry class for this build is Astrologer. If you’re interested in an optimized early game path with tons of useful resources, you can’t miss this guide.
