Hello everyone, and welcome back to my Elden Ring guide. In this guide, I’ll be showing you my Nightrider Glaive build, focusing on using Ash of War: Phantom Slash skill.

Overview

Nightrider Glaive is a Halberd that scales mainly based on Strength and Dexterity. The weapon itself requires 26 points of Strength and 10 points of Dexterity. It weighs 12 and can be infused with Ash of War and upgraded with Smithing Stones.

This is a splendid weapon for pure strength builds as it gains S scaling when you infuse it with Heavy infusion. It’s also a brilliant choice for mounted combat, especially while exploring.

Despite its slow attack speed, this weapon produces powerful damage output. Combined with Ash of War: Phantom Slash, this weapon becomes a good choice for performing lunging upward swing combos and hitting out-of-reach enemies.

Nightrider Glaive & Phantom Slash

They dropped Nightrider Glaive by Night’s Cavalry. He is located in the forest near East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace.

I like to infuse this weapon with Ash of War: Phantom Slash and choose Cold as the primary Weapon Affinity. With this Ash of War, you can summon a Phantom to channel joint lunging upward swing combos. Additional inputs allow you to perform powerful thrust follow-up attacks.

What I like about this skill is that Phantom has great tracking abilities and can even fly into the air. So it’s very useful for enemies you can’t reach, like flying enemies or dragons.

You can get this Ash of War by killing Night’s Cavalry located in Forbidden Lands Site of Grace to the northeast.

Buffs And Protection

For buffs and protection, Golden Vow and Black Flame’s Protection is your great choice. With Golden Vow, you increase damage by 15%, negating all damage to +10% for 80 seconds. Another Black Flame’s Protection increases your physical damage negation by 35%.

Seal

For Seal, the most basic Finger Seal can meet the needs of this build. You can find it from Twin Maiden Husks for 800 Elden Ring Runes.

Talismans

There are also some Talismans that I can use to increase my attack power and stamina regeneration speed. Paired with Bull-Goat’s Talisman, it can increase your Poise by 33%. 

Next, using Shard of Alexander can increase the attack power of Phantom Slash skill by 15%. Using Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman reduces physical damage taken by 20%. Last but not least is Green Turtle Talisman, which increases your stamina regeneration rate by 8 points per second.

Crystal Tears

You can also use a combination of two Crystal Tears to temporarily boost your status. Paired with Opaline Hardtear, it can temporarily increase the damage offset of all physical damage by 15% for 3 minutes. You can also choose Greenburst Crystal Tear, which increases the physical recovery speed by 15 points per second for 3 minutes.

Armor

For armor, Veteran’s Armor set can provide our character with excellent protection and enhance our Poise damage.

Stats

These gear meet the requirements for Nightrider Glaive weapons and Black Flame’s Protection. And I put most of my attributes on strength to increase my attack power. For this build, the specific stats I set are:

• Vigor 40
• Mind 23
• Endurance 35
• Strength 72
• Dexterity 10
• Intelligence 10
• Faith 30
• Arcane 10

Showcase

How this build works is that first you consume Crystal Tears, casting Golden Vow and Black Flame’s Protection to enhance your character. After that, you can cast Phantom Slash and perform lunging upward swing combos. Following this guide will help you destroy all bosses easily.
