Elden Ring: A Complete Walkthrough Guide For Limgrave Tunnels - Defeat Stonedigger Troll
Aug 10, 2023

Source: MMOWTS

Welcome to my Elden Ring Limgrave Tunnels guide. This short walkthrough guide covers all precautions in Limgrave Tunnels. And shows you how to kill every enemy, get every item, and defeat the boss.

Prepare Gear

Limgrave Tunnels are mines throughout Limgrave region. If you don’t have Torches, I recommend getting a Torch for 200 Elden Ring Runes from Merchant Kale in Church of Elleh before entering this mine. Because some areas are lit, but many areas are very dark.

Also, you’ll want a weapon that’s at least +1 or +2 before fighting the stronger enemies within. Such as Lordsworn’s Greatsword.

Activate Sites Of Grace

As we enter Limgrave Tunnels, you’ll find a lift platform, but ignore it, go left and drop sideways onto the small ledge. Descend again and explore the small cave here, and you’ll find Golden Rune.

You then carefully descend three more times, then pull the lever to lower the lift to that level. Just in case you need to get away, you can activate Sites of Grace first.

Location Of Miners

In the next area, we meet some Miners. They are formidable enemies, and you need to keep your weapons in both hands and be vigilant. When you come out of Limgrave Tunnels, the first Miner will be on your left. You can press R1 or RB to approach him for Backstab. Then quickly lock on to his target again and finish him off when he stands up. We can get a Smithing Stone from his corpse.

Another Miner won’t even notice, so you can Backstab him and kill him with a jump attack to get another Smithing Stone. Then we get down from the platform and kill the rest of Miners in the dark cave to get more Smithing Stones.

We should note that at the back of the cave, there is another Miner sitting on the left. You can’t Backstab him, but you can hit him with a powerful attack full of energy.

As you continue deeper into Limgrave Tunnels, watch out for Giant Rats popping up from nearby tunnels. You can only back off as much as possible to give yourself space, or they will surround you. Then you search the cave they came out of and you can find another Smithing Stone.

Go through the cave to the far end and follow Tunnels to another elevator. Take it to the bottom, then follow Tunnels into the next room. But this area can be tricky, as Rotten Stray and Miners will attack you at the same time. So use Bone Dart to lure them all into narrow tunnels where they’ll be easier to fight.

Go back to the main room. There is another Miner on the right. You can Backstab him to get Smithing Stone. There is also a hidden path behind the room that hides another small shack. Inside the hut, you’ll find a corpse with 5 Large Glintstone Scrap inside.

Then we went back to the elevator and took the elevator up. Facing southeast, you will see a hidden tunnel. We quickly jumped off the platform and landed on this ledge. Then go in along Tunnel and kill Miners in the front and side rooms. Remember to only approach the sitting miner when he is alone and finish him off quickly before the second miner joins in.

How To Beat The Boss?

Then we can go to the next room and get ready to fight the boss. Because Stonedigger Troll takes full damage from magic, use Glintstone Scraps to counter it. You can equip Large and Regular Glintstone Scraps you received and prepare to use to summon Lone Wolf Ashes.

However, avoid ranged attacks, as its weakest attacks are the ones it tries at close range. You can stay under its legs and attack it with a fully charged R2. And move to its head to attack again when it’s down to deal serious damage.

Defeating it will grant you Roar Medallion, which increases the damage of all Roar, Cry, Shriek or Dragon Breath attacks. Then you can go back to the entrance after checking the small pool of light.

This concludes my Elden Ring Limgrave Tunnels walkthrough guide. Hope this guide helps you quickly understand the enemies in Limgrave Tunnels, the items available, and the tips to look out for. Hope you have a great day.
