An Elden Ring player was amazed after surviving an extended fall at the top of Stormveil Castle. Elden Ring is more popular for its high difficulty and hard boss fights. There have been over nine billion in-game deaths in Elden Ring to date, with many coming from enemy encounters. However, 14% of deaths in Elden Ring result from falling. Luckily with this player, they did not end up part of the statistic.
Stormveil Castle is among the legacy dungeons present in Elden Ring. For many, it's the first one they'll encounter on the journey being Elden Lord. Legacy dungeons are special areas the place to find shard bearers. Stormveil may be the stronghold of Godrick the Grafted, and although players can acquire Godrick's Great Rune after defeating him, el born area is completely optional. The castle sits high atop Stormhill's cliffs, and traversing the terrain can be difficult, resulting in many deaths for unfamiliar players.
One Elden Ring player, referred to as Leehvin, posted a relevant video to Reddit showing them leaping at the top of Stormveil Castle and miraculously surviving the plunge into the depths below. In the recording, the ball player runs through probably the most dreadful parts of Stormveil Castle. This is really a part made infamous because of the incredibly aggravating Warhawk enemies present in this location. After they made their way with the enemies, leaving jumped from the edge of the castle just barely missing their mark around the landing platform. After falling for an extended time, the ball player somehow landed on the feet at the end of the castle without suffering any damage.
Many players have flooded the recording comment section with questions regarding how it was possible. Apparently, that one platform doesn't register fall damage. This is because the smoothness is supposed to land there from a massive height, albeit from a different jumping point. The player got lucky, missing the very first platform and ending up at the end. They skipped the traditional way down but reached the same destination which allowed them to survive the fall. There are a number of other platforms present in Elden Ring that alter fall damage and permit players to traverse significant drops without consequence. However, this player's accidental discovery is both satisfying and nerve-wracking.
While it might appear like a small victory, surviving an extended fall in Elden Ring is really a rare achievement. Elden Ring's unforgiving difficulty is just one of its defining features. It requires players to consider calculated risks and explore every inch of the game's world. Leehvin's daring leap off Stormveil Castle is really a testament to this, also it highlights the game's focus on experimentation and exploration. As players still brave the risks of Elden Ring, it's exciting to determine what other unexpected moments and feats they'll discover.
Elden Ring can be obtained now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
