They have released Elder Scrolls Online Update 39. Among them, Tank is about to undergo a series of changes, and one of the major adjustments is Green Dragon Blood. So we ran some tests to find out which is the better morph.
Right now, most of the adjustments are focused on class skills, many of which promise positive changes. However, this is still mostly a bug fix and quality of life patch. So, there’s not much to get excited about.
However, in the much-anticipated November Update 40, we’ll see a brand new Endless Dungeon Mode called Endless Archive. In that game mode, we’re told we’ll be able to earn a wealth of ESO Gold and new class sets, an exciting prospect. I’m really looking forward to seeing how these are implemented in Elder Scrolls Online. We continue with this patch.
Necromancer Tank U39 Changes
This update extends the modest buff to Necromancer class. Frozen Colossus in particular, the ultimate cost has been reduced from 225 to 175. Notably, Glacial Colossus Morph enjoys an additional boost that extends Major Vulnerability effect to 17 seconds per hit.
These modifications are certainly laudable for improving the efficiency of Necromancer. Especially given the recent influx of new major exploit sources in Elder Scrolls Online.
Another Necromancer tweak is Deaden Pain skill, the replacement morph for Necrotic Potency. It extended its Major Protection duration to 4 seconds, which is notable. However, this skill is rather unreliable. Because Major Protection depends on absorbing corpses. So in the critical encounters of Major Protection, this condition is usually difficult to meet.
Sorcerer Tank U39 Changes
Second, it well tuned Sorcerer Tank in the form of Bound Aegis. The ability can now be placed on any bar, passively providing its benefit. Also, Minor Protection for both bars is now a permanent aspect of the skill, removing the need for active casting.
But you still need to cast the skill to benefit from the additional Block Mitigation. This build provides a significant boost to Sorcerer Tank, increasing the skill’s value and utility.
Nightblade Tank U39 Changes
Nightblade’s Dark Deal skill also received similar improvements to Sorcerer. Minor Protection benefits are now always given to both bars by notching on any bar.
Another update includes Tri-Focus passive, which provides a larger damage shield. After you perform a violent attack with Eye of The Storm. While not universally applicable, this tweak may find a place in selected tanking strategies.
Dragonknight Tank U39 Changes
Finally, they also made changes to Dragonknight Tank’s healer, Dragon Blood. It looks like Green Dragon Blood can regain its status as Tank’s primary healer.
As a Tank, Dragon Blood morph, which is rare to block, is far superior to Coagulating Blood when it explodes. It will hold steady Dragon Blood for an additional 10K healing over 5 cycles.
If you’re playing a more balanced Tank, you stop adding health once you hit 40K health. Here, Coagulating Blood brings much higher burst healing than Dragon Blood.
The increase in heal make a big difference. Ultimately, the temporal aspect of the healing makes Dragon Blood the best option in Update 39. In situations where a lot of self-healing is critical, consider Coagulating Blood. Especially for Balanced Tanks with max stamina boost. As a niche scene for emergency healing, Dragon Blood is a superb choice for a variety of builds.
That’s all that’s changed for Tank in Update 39. Notably, issues with Dungeon Finder have also been fixed. This will no longer cause players to go offline when using the instance queue.
We’re going to be doing some Tank builds updates in this patch. We’re getting ready and excited about this Endless Archive. See you next time.
