Today I’m going to share some tips on making Gil without using Crafting. Because Gil gives you more possibilities in any FFXIV endgame event. So if you want to have a smooth FFXIV adventure, it is very necessary to earn more Gil.

Save Some Glamor

Glamor is everywhere in FFXIV, but good Glamor costs a lot of FFXIV Gil. For example, we can look at the price of Dye. Now a full set of Pure White Dye costs more than 1 million Gil on my server, and some Pants even cost 15 million Gil.

Aside from your character’s appearance, your Prestige in FFXIV community is largely determined by your own possessions. Even in the virtual world, owning an enormous mansion is a dream worth chasing. But this activity can quickly deplete your Gil savings.

If you’re a competitive Raider, you’re going to need a lot of consumables. Top food, potions, and elixirs are not cheap at all. And in the boss pull, you also need to use two to three potions per pull. So, saving some Glamor is a good thing. Here, tough battles also become less tense.

Item Trading

As far as I know, there is no quick way to cheat the system, but there are some tricks that will get you rich faster and more consistently. Most guides will say that the way to make money in FFXIV is to take all Crafting and Gathering Jobs to the max and become a crowned Omni-Crafter.

They are not wrong, indeed. But I still wanted to share some tips on how to make this precious Gil from scratch. Because level Crafting Jobs can be expensive to begin with. So my first suggestion is to install the official FFXIV Companion app. This way you can easily check prices.

You may have noticed that some quest mobs have a high chance of dropping some skin or meat. If you acquire these items, you can find a merchant who can trade these restricted items. Because the market is active and different on each server. So you can always find something to trade and earn a nice Gil for it.

For example, Tonberry’s Night Milk is in high demand. So I got it from a Beast Tribe for 84 Gil and sold it for almost 400 Gil. With this method, I can earn around 100K Gil per day without even doing anything. I’ve done this since level 40, when I unlocked my first Beast Tribe in A Realm Reborn.

Trading Tips

What we need to note is that price reduction is often meaningless, it will not make your goods trade faster. You can always check the history and see for yourself what people are interested in. If you find the product sells no more than 2 per day, you don’t need to put 10 there. You better use your market space smartly and increase your income without spending more on retainers.

If you are not new to the concept of flipping the market, you should know that you can access any server within the same data center. You can get items from the market board, which is sometimes much cheaper than on the market, from which you can make huge profits.

Greed

The next tip is to keep Greeding on everything. You can turn it into Company Seals, or break it up and trade its Ingredients. If you do this on your daily Duty Roulette, it will increase your steady income.

But don’t overdo it with your currency, like Company Seals or Allagan Tomestones of various types. You can trade them in for some rare items to improve your character, gather materials for Relic Weapons, or trade some resources on the token board.

Retainers

Retainers are useful NPCs that players can hire to perform tasks such as stockpiling excess Gil and gear, or trading unwanted items in the marketplace. You can also give them a combat mission.

Because any Tank, Healer or DPS has the same efficiency. The only thing that matters for combat missions is item level. So I suggest you give the first Retainer the same occupation as you. Here, you can use old gear.
