In today’s guide, we’ll talk about how to farm resources quickly in Skull and Bones, and provide some resource gathering tips to help you craft Opium, Rum, and Gin faster and increase your Infamy ranks! These tips will come in handy for any pirate on the high seas.
Select Contract
First, you need to go to Supply Network located at Smuggler Hideouts. From here, we need to accept all contracts located in the same region.
Four of the six contracts shown here are in the same area, all of which are located near outposts in the southern part of Western Basin. I was awarded two 120 Sugar Cane contracts for a total of 240 Sugar Cane. The other two contracts are for 120 Juniper Berries and 120 Poppy.
Now, once you accept the contract, all you have to do is head to the southern outpost located in Western Basin and fast travel from the outpost or den to collect resources.
Clear Cargo Space
Once you arrive, my advice is to first move any Skull and Bones Items in your cargo that are not related to attacking a ship and move them to the cache, so you have more space. This way, all the resources you are going to get will not overflow or can greatly reduce the chance of this happening.
Plunder Ship
Once you’ve emptied your cargo as much as possible, you’re ready to board your ship. You’ll actually spend about 30 seconds or a minute traveling in real life.
You need to look for a boat that’s in open water, and you can check the map to make sure you’re heading in the right direction. Then, once you see a ship there, look at it through Spyglass to make sure it’s the right ship.
It’s worth noting that before boarding these ships, I gave the crew silver and resources to keep up morale in a pirate game. This way, the crew can help us destroy the enemy into pieces easily, and then we will get more resources.
The next thing we have to do is take out this ship quickly. It was easy to kill, as it was only level 10. I shot it three times, and it burned up in flames. Don't forget to plunder all resources on board before doing so.
Choose The Right Ship
I ended up with 600 Sugar Canes, 300 Berries, and 300 Poppy. And if I choose to keep morale up and give up some Skull and Bones Silver, I get 120 Berries, 120 Poppy, and 240 Sugar Cane. This is huge and gives us a lot of resources that we can use at Distillery and Laboratory to produce Opium, Rum, and Gin.
Sadly, I could have taken a few other items, except that my shipment did overflow. Since it is Brigantine that I use, I do recommend any other boat that offers more cargo space than Brigantine to avoid this problem. I think Padewakang is a good choice. It can definitely carry more cargo.
If you do run into this problem, say you just prefer a Brigantine or a ship that can’t carry that much cargo. You can throw them overboard and go to the island to drop off your cargo, then go back and pick up whatever you find now.
What Is Death Mark?
When you do this method, you do get a Death Mark symbol located in the lower left corner below your health bar.
Basically, it puts a bounty on you because your crew has no morale, and Rogue ships hunt you down for an hour. There’s no way you can get out of it except wait an hour before doing something else and killing Rogue ships when they catch up to you.
However, there is a way to reduce the time by 50%. This is achieved by upgrading Smuggler part of Helm. Once you upgrade it high enough, you’ll be able to reduce the time it takes to eliminate Death Mark.
As mentioned above, Death Mark does last for one hour, one in-game hour. Whatever you want to do, just come back and jump into the game an hour later, and the impact isn’t that bad, and it doesn’t have huge consequences. So you don’t have to worry too much.
Regardless, by following this guide, you will plunder more resources on the high seas and become the most Infamy pirate lord!
