The Lands Between in 'Elden Ring' is definitely an interconnected maze of roads and hidden pathways. One such obscured path may be the Rold Route.
Over hours of playtime, players will slowly advance over the interconnected world map of The Lands Between in Elden Ring, chopping down dangerous creatures and meeting peculiar NPCs. Off the beaten path and down dirt roads also rest new weapons with unique attack skills or powerful Incantations to suit a magic-based character build.
Exploring may be the bulk of a player's journey within the action RPG game, particularly when discovering more obscured trails such as the Rold Route to unlock new areas. The thing is, it may be tricky to locate.
Here's a reason for how to achieve the Rold Route if you are having trouble.
How to get to the Rold Route in 'Elden Ring' explained:
As long as players know at which the start point from the Rold Route begins, it will not be hard to locate it again through multiple playthroughs.
To arrive at the Rold Route in Elden Ring, you have to first defeat Morgott, the Omen King. He's an important boss found later within the Leyndall capital city, following another boss fight with Golden Spectre of Godfrey, the First Elden Lord.
Before you battle Morgott, we recommend activating the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace close to the center of Leyndall. It will be ideal for getting towards the Rold Route following the boss fight.
Upon defeating Morgott, continue the primary questline by attempting to enter the Erdtree to trigger a celebration with Melina, who eventually provides you with the Grand Lift Rold's medallion. Opening the planet map using the medallion inside your character's hand will disclose a bright red marker showing the position of the Rold Route.
Unfortunately, the only marker doesn't explain which Rold Route starts. From here, go back to the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace to go up the primary street of Leyndall and turn left.
Keep going down the primary road, passing demihuman enemies, and move through large doors to climb a staircase. At the top, make another left to locate an elevator you have to ride. The elevator will require you towards the Grand Lift of Rold, where one can use the Rold medallion to achieve the Mountaintop of Giants.
How to Sprint in 'Elden Ring.'
Sprinting is going to be perfect for heading down the Rold Route if you are not thinking about fighting the right path through.
On PlayStation controllers, hold on the Circle button to sprint or even the B key for Xbox users. The standard input for that sprint on PC is Space Bar.
Tapping the sprint button for every platform will let players backstep or roll dodge based on their character's directional movement. Whichever way you utilize it, keep in mind the stamina bar so you don't end up in a sticky situation with no way to avoid damage.
Elden Ring can be obtained on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
