Weaker or Stronger? That is the question for Venti in Genshin Impact
Oct 11, 2022

Source: MMOWTS

For Venti's fans, his return in Genshin Impact 3.1 Banner is an absolutely exciting thing, personally I think the possibilities of Venti's potential in the future is also attracive, for the players who have curiosity on his team builds, today let's have a look at my favourite teams and discussic about it.

Weaker or Stronger? That is the question for Venti in Genshin Impact1

The exciting team style I wanted to discuss is Quicken teams, or more specifically Aggravate teams. Essentially, anemo characters are able to proc aggravate reactions by swirling electro and chain reacting this electro swirl onto other enemies that are affected by quicken. In doing so, the anemo character is dealing swirl damage and aggravate damage on enemies, and even though the aggravate that anemo characters cause cannot crit, it still adds up to a significant amount of reaction damage thanks to EM and level scaling.

In Venti's case, this phenomenon is especially true because again, he already thrives in AOE scenarios, so his ability to constantly proc swirl and aggravate on piles of enemies all at once creates extremely high AOE damage for aggravate teams.

Take for example a team with Yae Miko, Fischl, Dendro Traveler and Venti. Venti's burst is helping Yae's turrets and Traveler's burst to hit multiple enemies at once, which is a notable boost to their team damage contribution, but on top of that, Venti is causing constant swirl and aggravate reactions whilst still completely allowing Fischl and Yae to deal their own aggravates as well, making it a very potent quickswap team.

You could also replace one of these electro slots with Keqing or Beidou for more offensive potential, OR characters like Kuki or Dori for less damage but decent survivability. Cyno isn't currently well explored in the game, so I can't say much, but it's very safe to infer that he'll perform well with Venti in aggravate teams similarly to how Keqing performs with Venti, because cyno is an electro unit with a lot of electro application, which is great for aggravate.

Meanwhile, you could go down a weird route and run Venti, Kazuha, an electro unit and a dendro unit, for the purposes of having Venti as your anemo support, so that Kazuha can run thundering fury, which allows this team to output an insane amount of swirls and aggravates. The only issue with these team variants though is that Venti IS taking up the team slot that you'd generally fill with a support unit like Zhongli or Diona, so Venti's version of aggravate teams is best enjoyed by players who are okay with sacrificing comfortable gameplay for high damage outputs.

You'll absolutely want Venti to run Viridescent Venerer in this team since shredding electro resistance is so valuable, and my weapon recommendations for Venti will remain pretty much the same as they are for his Hyperbloom teams, because he can't actually strengthen his own aggravate damage with crit and damage modifiers since  his aggravates are considered transformative reactions. That's because technically he's not actually causing aggravate on his own, but rather using chain reaction mechanics to cause it.

That is almost every thing I would like to discuss about the Venti, and regardless, both of these team variants have a lot of possible setups with Venti in mind. So I don't think Venti is any weaker or any stronger in 3.1, I do think he's become quite a bit more applicable to the meta builds than he's been in recent times. Although Kazuha and Sucrose have definitely also solidified their spots in dendro teams, Venti has done so in a way that feels very outstanding as well. He provides insane value in AOE scenarios and provides quite a few otherwise unattainable mechanics that not even powerhouses like Kazuha and Sucrose can provide in these teams, but he is still restricted to AOE teams. If you're a fan of Venti or you're okay with him only being optimal in AOE combat, he's quite fun and very powerful as he's always been in 3.1, but if you're on the fence for other reasons though, it is worth noting that Kazuha is widely agreed to be a more practical and versatile anemo support than Venti.
