One of the best Trap builds in Path of Exile 3.19 must be Divergent lightning trap, which gives your projectiles a chance to return when they either reach the end of their trajectory or hit a wall, potentially hitting an enemy again on the return in theory, doubles your damage if each strap is able to hit at least one returning projectile.
You get 13 projectiles per trap if you include Sniper's Mark, so with the default 20 chance you'll likely get a couple projectile to return which is technically all you need for single target. However, they can miss if your target moves, so I'm using Ashes of the Stars to boost the chance for better coverage, this also improves your map clear speed, since the returning projectiles can clean up the stragglers that did't get hit by the initial trigger.
I think lightning trap is the best all-around trap skill, it has the best clear and the best damage because of the Divergent skill gem. Some people might be worried about the playstyle for map clearing, but trust me this build is super fast and really smooth to play. We also don't really need to aim since the projectiles cover the whole screen, so you're just running through the map and throwing traps in front of you.
Everyone knows how good the trapping play style is for bossing, you can set up traps for some initial burst and you're fully ranged, you never feel locked in place. So obviously this build does all the Ubers, in fact it's good in almost all content.
Why did I choose Raider for this? You can get more damage with something like a Saboteur, Assassin or Inquisitor, while Raider gives you a lot of quality of life, gearing requirements is easier with the spell suppression and ailment avoid, We get a lot of speed with the onslaught effect, and Phasing which is almost mandatory on Trappers for me because you don't instantly kill the monsters in front of you. Since we have so much flask charge to our life, flask will be up whenever we need it, recovery is not really an issue as well.
Most of the items aren't insane, they're pretty attainable. I'll provide budget friendly alternatives for the more pricey pieces, they'll be a bit worse but you can cut down on a lot of the cost.
So I'm using the Ashes of the Stars which by itself is like half the total cost of the build, if you can't afford one you can use an Aul's Uprising instead.
The jewels in this build are really strong, so don't skimp on these. Lethal Pride here that gives us enough strength for our gems, since we don't really get much strength anywhere else, make sure you get other good stuff on it too.
The most important item in the build is Slavedriver's Hand, it allows us to a lot of cast speed which both improves our DPS and makes the build much smoother to play.
