Today I’m unveiling my ultimate Season of Discovery Phase 2 preparation guide. In this guide, I’m going to talk about what I’m doing with all my characters, my alt-everything, my investments, and how I prepare for pre-quests. I have a five-step plan for what Phase 2 should do, so let’s get started!
Alts, Runes & Gear
So the first thing you need to do is sort all the characters, all the alts. I’m going to work on leveling up all my characters first.
I have a Warlock and a Balance Druid. Once these characters all reach level 25, you’ll also need to get all 12 Runes on them. You might think that it might not be necessary to get all 12 Runes, but many of them scale very well.
For example, in my Priest, I now have Mind Sear. Mind Sear really isn’t that good now, but will be better in the later stages, as my Shadow setup has more spell power. So that’s something I’d like to get even though I’m not using it right now.
We should note that whether you upgrade or do Runes, the next phase will become more difficult. Therefore, it’s also very important to max out your gear before people go on a Neron Raid. Because now equipment is very important for your upgrade.
To me, as a spellcaster, Neron is a very important thing. Even as a healer, I prioritize spell damage because I want to level up faster.
I now want to equip my priest with as much BiS gear as possible. But I also save different parts in higher-level brackets.
There are a lot of Greens and Blues in the auction house and they are very cheap. But since no one can use them, I’m a little hesitant. Because I want to get a lot of WOW Classic SOD Gold for the second part of our plan.
Season Of Discovery Gold
The second part of our plan to prepare for Phase 2 is to farm as much gold as possible. Of course, at level 40, it’s very important that your mount has at least 80 or 90 SoD WoW Gold. We also have to save money so that we can have a lot of different consumables for the new Neron Raid and new upgrades.
I mean, if you’re doing something like Scarlet Monastery spam. You need to make sure you have a lot of mana potions at your disposal, not just cheap low-level potions.
I also want you to have as much storage space as possible. Obviously, Darkmoon Storage Box with 14 slots is a great place to start. But if you have more Classic SoD Gold, you can now also buy Journeyman’s Backpack for a round 40 gold each.
This may seem like an enormous investment, but having more bags means you can store the more expensive items that drop in the next phase.
Phase 2 Leveling Route
Next, we need to plan our upgrade route, but the big question is whether you plan to use Scarlet Monastery as your primary source of upgrade XP.
Some groups can pull out entire dungeons in a matter of minutes. If you’re playing a class that’s even worse for spamming dungeons, like Ele Shaman, you might just want to think about questing, rather than talking about how to level up. Therefore, it is important to plan your leveling route in advance.
You can save more than 20 tasks via pre-quests. But pre-quests aren’t the only thing. You can prepare ahead of time, though, because you can also actually set up all of your profession in advance.
Professions
We have to speculate a bit here, but level 225 is the maximum expected level for Phase 2. One thing you can do is you can go look at some profession guides and see what they recommend you do from level 150 to 225.
For Engineering, for example, you already have Bronze Framework and Explosive Sheep fully prepared in terms of materials. You can also have recipes like Spellpower Goggles Xtreme ready to go.
If you can find something cheap on Auction House, you can also get some very cheap vendor recipes ahead of time, like Schematic: Deadly Scope or Goblin Jumper Cables.
Another popular profession is Cooking because it can cook Curiously Tasty Omelet.
In Phase 2, you can already reach level 175. I’ve stocked up on everything I need to make Curiously Tasty Omelet and I have the recipe ready to go. Then by reaching 225, you can already purchase Recipe: Roast Raptor and all the materials. You need to maximize your cooking abilities.
Apart from this, some of the best Cooking Recipes like Monster Omelet or Tender Wolf Steak are also very important. So, are you ready to go?
Reputation
Finally, this leads perfectly into the fifth preparation. What I’m trying to do is maximize your reputation, or at least make them as high as possible.
By far the most important rep is Supply Officer Rep. Although this is just a little of speculation, Supply Officer’s next Runes will most likely be Honored reputation level. Although I know it can be frustrating, you need to persevere and earn an Honored reputation.
So I highly recommend you do this. This next step won’t take hours, but it will maximize your Warsong Reputation and get Exalted.
The reason we’re getting Exalted is there are some wonderful rewards in the remaining stages, like in Phase 2 you get some good Epic Bracers.
So the key here is that you can get most of Reputation through Winter Veil Event, and then you can get Exalted through Warsong game. I know it takes a long time, but it’s an immense advantage moving into the next phase.
This is basically my five-step planning guide for getting into Phase 2. Following this guide will help you get off to a great start in Phase 2. See you next time!
