I believe you should have noticed that developer have introduced some new Runes to WoW Classic Season of Discovery. In my opinion, the most popular Rune among them is Warlock Metamorphosis Rune.
This Rune, once equipped on the new Classic-era server, will make these Warlocks one of the best tanks in the game. It transforms them into a powerful, dark demon with fresh attacks, more armor, and an incredible appearance. For days, however, it remained a seemingly unsolvable mystery.
But luckily, a recent hotfix has made things easier by no longer requiring players to fight through raid battles to get some items needed to complete the mission. Here’s everything you need to know about this powerful Rune.
Metamorphosis Rune Explained
Metamorphosis is perhaps the most powerful Warlock Rune in the entire WOW Classic SOD. Transforms players into powerful demon tanks, allowing them to soak up more damage and unleash some truly devastating attacks.
Luckily, it’s actually not difficult to unlock Metamorphosis Rune. And best of all, the unlocking process is the same regardless of your race and faction. Therefore, this Rune is suitable for almost every Warlock character.
How To Get Metamorphosis?
If you want to unlock the power of Metamorphosis, you’ll need to first travel to Tower of Ilgalar in Redridge Mountains. Reach the top and loot Orb of Des. You will then need to travel to Darkshore and retrieve Bough of Altek from the top of Tower of Althalaxx.
With Bough of Altek and Orb of Des, you must now head to Barrens (49, 57). There you can complete the quest called Orb of Soran’ruk. Now, this quest initially requires you to enter Shadowfang Keep dungeon and do Blackfathom Deeps raid to complete.
You’ll need Large Soran’ruk Fragment from Shadowfang Keep. Most players tend to recommend that you keep an eye out for Shadowfang Darksoul. Because under normal circumstances, courtyard mobs will not drop quest items about Metamorphosis. Instead, walk up the ramp to the left, near Razorclaw the Butcher, where you’ll have a greater chance of dropping related items.
However, defeating these bosses will also be more difficult, so it is crucial to spend more WOW Classic SOD Gold to improve your character’s overall stats.
Then, you’ll need three more Soran’ruk Fragments. You could originally find it by killing monsters in Blackfathom Deeps.
However, this issue recently got a hotfix, so you don’t need to enter Blackfathom Deeps to complete Metamorphosis mission. Instead, you can find Twilight’s Hammer on Zoram Strand outside Blackfathom Deeps. This makes the task easier to complete.
Next, you will need to complete Conjuring, which is the next task in the chain. You need to get Blood of the Legion from the demon mobs in Demon Fall Ridge in Northern Ashenvale. Then, use the altar, which will summon several waves of enemies. You only need to stand within Purple Rune’s walls and you can easily defeat them with Drain Soul spell.
After defeating the last demon, you will receive Mysterious Traveler Quest. It’s also the next part to unlock Metamorphosis in WoW Classic Season of Discovery.
Finally, return to Barrens and complete the simple quest, Raszel Ander. Your reward is Metamorphosis Rune, which will make you one of the best tanks in the game.
Conclusion
Now that you know how to unlock Warlock Metamorphosis Rune in Season of Discovery, you can become a tank Warlock. This Rune allows you to assume Metamorphosis form, replacing your abilities with threat-generating abilities. Also, it increases your armor, reduces your chance of critical hits, and increases the mana you gain from Life Tap.
Overall, WOW Classic SOD will continue to impress players with its content and exciting new ways to play. What do you think of this Metamorphosis Rune? Which Rune is your favorite? Hope to see you in the game!
