In this guide, we’ll talk about the best alts to choose from for each section in WOW Classic SOD Phase 2. Since we currently have a 100% XP boost, this means it will take us less than 20 hours to reach the level in Phase 2.

So, whether you want to be the best gold digger, the most powerful DPS, or dominate Blood Moon PVP event, now is the best time to build your alts. Without further ado, let’s get started!

Gold Makers

First, let’s talk about gold makers. So the first great alts for gold making would be Hunters. Hunters have amazing capabilities for single player dungeons and open world content.

And the first thing for solo hunters is Cathedral Dungeon. You can boost them individually in Cathedral for over 200 WOW Classic SOD Gold per hour. It took me about 4 hours to complete my first run, but it really wasn’t that hard of a boost.

Once you get it down, you can complete a full clear in about 15 minutes or so, which nets you over 150,000 XP per hour on your boost, which is amazing.

We also have Hunter Uldaman Solo as an alternative. You can earn 30 WoW SoD Gold per hour, and there are various opportunities to farm gold, such as Pendulum of Doom.

If you don’t want to do Scarlet Monastery Cathedral boost, you can also do open world farming, or farm things like Taris and Pirates, which are amazing for getting items like Gut Ripper.

But Hunters can actually do any farm in the game, and you can even sell Demonic Runes to people as a service if they’re on your team. Honestly, I think Hunters could kill Nixia right now if the raid was open.

The next gold maker you should try is Mage. Mage is great for AOE farming, and we have a lot of great options, like Woodpaw farming in Feralas. Not only that, but they are just as good as Hunter at Cathedral boost, so this will be the number one gold makers for this phase.

Now we all know that Hunter and Mage are both great, but so is Rogue. Surprisingly, Rogue is such a good gold farmer that they can pass Scarlet Monastery alone and get Pickpocket and Chest.

DPS

Now, let’s talk about the best alts for DPS.

First, we have a Mage. Because right now in Neron, Mage is indeed the number one DPS spec. They really shine in tough battles like Mechanical Menagerie. Some Mages are pushing nearly a thousand DPS, it’s crazy.

And Mage is really starting to come into play as a healer, too. Mage is by far the healer with the highest damage output, which really correlates with parsing, healing, or DPS. Everyone wants a Mage, and it’s not too late to make one.

We also have to talk about Shaman. Shaman comes in two different DPS specs, both currently in the top five DPS. As of now, Shaman is the least represented class in DPS, which means there is a huge unmet need. 

Although Shaman healer are not the hottest healer around right now, they are still very important. Since everyone needs healing, if you want to create an alt with high demand and extremely low supply, Shaman is definitely your best choice.

Also, Warlock is a good choice. Warlock is the top two DPS. And Warlocks are becoming more and more popular as tanks. They are currently the second highest DPS output tank. If you want to get a raid point in Phase 2, you really can’t go wrong with Warlock.

PVP

Finally, let’s talk about my favorite part of the game, PVP.

We have to talk about Rogue. Although they are not dominant in 1v1, they lose to Shadow Priest and Warlock, but in an open world with full cooldowns, they are probably the scariest class you will encounter.

Secondly, we can’t talk about PVP without talking about Mage. Mage will probably give you more fun per minute than any other classes in the game. They have insane burst potential and can attack enemies with Arcane Surge. This is probably the most interesting thing in the game right now.

We also have to talk about Priest. Priest dominated every 1v1 tournament, winning them all. That alone is enough for me to become a Priest, because I love duel tournaments.

But I would also say that Priest is the most desirable class in Blood Moon. And Shadow Priest are also very popular in Blood Moon, they are probably the scariest open world class in the game after Rogue.

If you become a Priest, you will have no trouble joining groups. I mean, you won’t have any shortage of friends compared to when I was used to playing Warrior.
